Welcome to my Botanical journey!

I began painting from life in 2008 with portraits of a simple subject, such as a flower or a seed pod.  A view of nature I enjoy to this day.  Each year I grew, adding more leaves, adding more dimension, and even telling a plant's life story.  I have even painted a work over four feet tall! "Each species that I paint is beautiful and a miracle.   I am convinced that there is an intelligence here that we have yet to fully understand, a mystery and a joy."   I post my techniques and tools on my blog, The Botanical Blogger.     And to keep up to date, please follow me on Instagram.   (Find the Links in the upper right drop down menu.)     Thank you for stopping by,

Botanical Watercolor at The Elizabethan Gardens

A walk down memory lane!  I treasure the years of teaching at The Elizabethan Gardens every spring and fall.

What STUDENTS have to say...

I went on a real mental journey in your class…first there was the usual terror knowing that I was not on the level of the other students, then on the second day there was sheer frustration and a silent promise to myself that I would never try painting again unless it involved a wall in my home…but toward the end of the second day, and definitely the third day, I experienced such joy watching my iris come to life, and now I can’t wait to get back to my painting!  Thank you so much for helping me get through that journey, and know that I have every intentions of being in your class again next year!!!  Joanne  Virginia Beach, VA Linda Miller has been my watercolor teacher for the past year and I can’t say enough wonderful things about her teaching.  The classes are always positive, relaxing and well structured.  A perfect environment to grow as an artist.  Her theory presentation is always very helpful and can be applied...
